I'm pretty sure '''Luigi's Mansion 2 HD''' will be my last major role in the modding scene as a whole, as what I plan to do is experiment with modding the game for research purposes to learn how ''Next Level Games'' built this fantastic game. This would be done with a series of videos documenting as I go along. No tutorials on how to mod '''Luigi's Mansion 2 HD''' will be made on [https://www.youtube.com/@JackSnacksOnBigMacs my channel], as there will be guides on how to mod the game written in the '''''Luigi's Mansion 2''' Modding Wiki''. I truly hope '''Luigi's Mansion 2 HD''' gains popularity from me and my Wiki team's work, as well as other modders who are already part of the '''Luigi's Mansion 2''' modding scene! Only time will tell!

Who am I?

Recently, I started getting excited about the re-release of one of my favorite games, Luigi's Mansion 2, also known as Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon in other regions that are not Europe and Australia. In April of 2024, I began the development of a Luigi's Mansion 2 modding Wiki where information about the internal files of Luigi's Mansion 2 would be documented. I have formed a passionate Wiki development team. I am enthusiastic about working with a team of people who will attempt to help increase the popularity of the Luigi's Mansion 2 modding scene.

History of Mods

New Super Mario Bros. U

New Super Mario Run

This was my first mod and was an attempt to bring the mobile app, Super Mario Run, to Wii U through the game engine of New Super Mario Bros. U. I was developing this mod through the years 2021 and 2022 until eventually canceling it due to me being too ambitious about the project. Lots of progress was made graphics-wise, but stages, not so much due to the lack of custom-coded features. Portions of this mod reappear in a mod reflecting my modding history titled Jack's Mod Pack, which is still in development. Slow development.

Newer Super Mario Bros. U — Revived

This was my second mod, being developed during the same time as New Super Mario Run, and was ultimately killed off at the end of Q3, 2021 because of bad public opinions. A lot of progress was made on this one, surprisingly, because a wide range of resources from the original NewerSMBU's source code had been made public. I had thought it would be a perfect opportunity to utilize these clever ideas, but, since the ideas were technically owned by other modders it wasn't possible to do without being told "No.", so I canned the revival project. This mod is featured in Jack's Mod Pack with a different name and original ideas to avoid bad public opinions of copying.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii Deluxe — Revived

My third mod, again, was also being made during the development of New Super Mario Run. I couldn't continue the development of the mod because it essentially stole the concept of another modder, Rimea. I have chosen not to bring this mod back through my modding history mod, Jack's Mod Pack, to avoid conflict.

Super Mario 2D Land

This was an unannounced project, intended to be my first original full-length mod. There isn't much information about it due to little development being made on it, but a portion of the mod does make an appearance in Jack's Mod Pack.

Jack's Mod Pack

This is a very special mod, as it reflects my New Super Mario Bros. U modding history. It features levels from all but one of the mods I've made; New Super Mario Bros. Wii Deluxe — Revived. No more information about the mod is being revealed, as I am still trying to figure out how I would order things within it. This mod may take time to complete, but one day, it may come out unless I choose to keep it non-downloadable, but watchable via a YouTube video.

Super Mario 3D World

Hyper Speed

This mod was made to test how fast I could make the characters in Super Mario 3D World for the Wii U move. I am considering eventually making an extreme version of the mod in which I set the values to the highest possible without breaking the game. I may even bring it to Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder

All mods here are singular stages, not full-length mods.

Break Time! - Hurry, Scurry

This stage, not only was the first custom Break Time! stage made for Super Mario Bros. Wonder, but was also made to test how an edited version of a Break Time! stage would behave. It wasn't much different in the end but after a staggering 4 hours of figuring out how to place the smoothened zip track slopes without any glitches, I finished the stage with almost no problems at all. If I was to update the stage, I'd only add decorations to make it seem more lively.

Break Time! - Pipe Chop Hop

This stage was requested by someone who didn't have access to the files of Super Mario Bros. Wonder. From the overwhelmed feeling I got from having to study and make the stage, I decided to cancel the stage entirely. Who knows, one day, I may revive it.

Christmastide Summit

This was my attempt at a Christmas-themed stage for Super Mario Bros. Wonder. I learned how to attach an object to a rail, which was quite an achievement for me, but I couldn't find a way to stop it from popping onto the screen when loading into the stage. I could never complete the stage before or after Christmas and if I did release it by the time it would've been complete, it probably would've already been 2024.

My Future Plans for Modding

Luigi's Mansion 2 HD will most likely be my last major role in the Mario modding scene as a whole. What I plan to do with this game is document and explain how each file works for research purposes only. This is to learn how Next Level Games built this fantastic game. Note that no tutorials on how to mod Luigi's Mansion 2 HD will be made on my channel, as there will be guides on how to mod the game written in the Luigi's Mansion 2 Modding Wiki. I truly hope Luigi's Mansion 2 HD gains popularity from the work of me and my Wiki team, as well as other modders part of the Luigi's Mansion 2 modding scene! Only time will tell!
